AGD not feeling so good...

I got this email from an AGD that I know but only see a couple of times a year. She graduated from Penn State (Alpha Mu) and I believe is the Scholarship Advisor at Ga Tech (GPhi). Wierd..she doesn't smoke and works for the CDC!

"Gotta update you on something--- I was admitted to the hospital late November for pneumonia because I could not catch my breath-- (the ONLY symptom). While I was there they drained fluid and discovered I had malignant cells in my lungs. After numerous tests and whatnot, me, the non-smoker and with NO history of cancer in the family--- I have lung cancer!

They think it's rather early. I started chemo on Dec 4 and have had 4 treatments thus far. I have had very minimal side effects and am still working. I did lose my hair over Christmas---now that was scary. The doc is wonderful and is very optomistic that I will get through this. My blood counts have stayed in the normal ranges thus far.

So, I am taking each day as it comes. My mom was here while I was in the hospial then she came back for 2 weeks over Christmas. I've started back to my usual volunteer activities- in fact EC is this Sunday!"

Now that's dedication!

Please keep LuAnn in your thoughts! (Yea, Lisa...it's the one you met at the Braves game.)
