Methodist

9/3/2002 - Congratulations to Alpha Xi Delta’s Newest Colony
Zeta Mu’s recolonization welcomed 18 young women into Alpha Xi Delta at Methodist College on August 29. This private, liberal arts university in Fayetteville, North Carolina, enrolls 2,200 students. Alpha Xi Delta continues to invite women into the colony. If you know of a young woman interested in Alpha Xi Delta, contact Erin at edeggendorfer@alphaxidelta.org.

FYI, 18 might be small compared to the new chapter at Wingate or UK, but it is the ONLY sorority on campus.

Two groups on campus

Actually, there are two groups on campus.

Sigma Sigma Sigma also has a colony at Methodist. They colonized there last semester.

18 is a great size to start with on that campus. Greek life is very new so it will take a little bit of time to get the word out. There are just over 2000 students and I am sure that once Tri Sigma and Alpha Xi Delta get the word out on campus, everyone will want to Go Greek!

(There is one local Fraternity on Campus that I know of - no Nationals)

I am sorry about that mistake! I got the impression from looking at the Methodist website that all Greek life had died out, and I think I managed to extrapolate a lot more than they meant to imply. I wish the best of luck to Tri-Sigma as well as AXD.

Just letting everyone know that the Methodist College Colony will be installed as chapter on Saturday, November 23rd. More infor will be available shortly thru Fraternity Headquarters. Of course I am very excited because this is my initiating chapter. Looking forward to welcoming more sisters to Alpha Xi Delta and to the Zeta Mu Chapter.

Whoa, did I just hop in my time machine? I thought that chapters were usually installed at least a full semester after colonization. (Not that I'm objecting, you understand - just confused!)

Not necessarily ... it depends on the situation..

Theta Omega at NMSU was colonized with a colonization rush in late Feb. 1998 and installed May 2, 1998.

Congratulations to the women of Zeta Mu colony for this great achievement!!
