I leave for Florida tomorrow. I am so nervous! I have never lived away(as in another state) from my parents! I feel like crying and my stomach feels uneasy.
Oh Lana - you will do fine! It is a big change - but that's what you were looking for. Give yourself some time to get used to things and then you should be fine.
And just think, we'll be in the same time zone now! If you start really stressing, you know where to find me!

Lana,
I can totally relate. After I moved to Austin I was very homesick and even depressed. It took me a while to even get out of the house because I was so unsure of my where abouts. Believe me, the best thing to do is to get right out there and meet people and have fun. I think had my ex shown me around a little that would have helped...so take my advice, go out, do something new every weekend, call your family lots, and go to church! It will help you get through everything!
It will be fine! It may be difficult in the beginning, but keeping a positive attitude and remembering why it is you moved to Floriday in the first place will keep things in perspective. Meeting people is key; get out there and mingle!! I wish you the best of luck.
Pensacola is a FABULOUS little town - its got big city amenities with a small town feel, tons of history, and some of the most beautiful beaches close by. (Panama City Beach is about 2 hrs away - you MUST see it - the water is an indescribable color!)
Are you just coming for the year? Or is it a permanent move? Either way, enjoy your time in the south.
