Issue with our school involving Bid Day

We are in search of a new tradition for our bid day. Previously we had a ceremony of the new member runs down stairs and jumps into the crowd of brothers. Due to a tragedy on our campus last semester, this isn't an option for us anymore (trust me I fought tooth and nail). Now we are in search of a new tradition and being a small school we are having trouble finding something that the administration won't pounce on and eliminate as quickly as we get it set up.

So I guess my question is what are some of your own bid day traditions?

Fraternity.

Basically the school has told us that the use of stairs, running, and jumping are out of the question. So needless to say we are a little limited.

Are well supervised trust falls out of the question?

If you don't get what you're looking for here, you might want to go to Borders or Barnes & Noble over the weekend and thumb through an icebreaker book -- they usually sell them in the business and management section.

They eliminated jumping on people due to the possibility of people falling as well as the possibility of injury to those being jumped on. So it is the general thought of the fraternities on campus that something like a trust fall would likely be out of the question as well. There has never previously been a situation where someone has gotten hurt at our bid day celebration. Our bid day itself is always well supervised. Each of the issues I have listed above were eliminated from the bid day celebration through careful planning by the IFS in order to jump through the hoops provided for us by our administration. Once this was done it still wasn't good enough and they sacked the whole tradition.

What about looking to footbal games for inspiration? I was thinking about some kind of banner break-through to welcome the guys. It would still involve running but could eliminate the stairs and jumping.
