expansions??
hey phi siggies!
i was reading some of the other panhel forums, and so many of the other sororities are expanding. i know we added a few chapters last year, but does anyone know if we're going to be expanding to schools with larger greek systems anytime soon? while its great that we have so many chapters, it would be even better to reactivate or expand to larger campuses across the US, dont you think?
i just can't wait to spread the phi sig joy!

I agree!
We were founded last year, and I was surprised to find out that there aren't any new colonies being built. Especially on the west coast. There are only 8 chapters in California, where the other greeks in So. Cal have like 20! I was talking with an SAE at a social this weekend, and he told me that they have 260+ chapters! That's insane! There was talk that we were going to look at Cal. State Los Angeles, and Cal. State Fullertin... But nothing has been done yet. I would really like to see Phi Sigs at the big schools though. Get our chapters back at USC, UCLA etc. I'm not sure how things are back East, but over here, the schools were Phi Sigs are, are pretty small. We'll see what happens!

HEY !!!
I totally agree we need some more representation out here on the west... and some represtentation at the bigger greek campuses in the south... I think it's harder to expand to schools that have big traditional greek systems as they already have houses built and all of that.. but if we are PHI sigs and we AIM HIGH we can do it !! I agree with restarting the UCLA and USC chapters... I know that UC Santa Cruz wants another national.. WHY NOT PHI SIG ??!! I think maybe if we all tell National what we think maybe it will happen. Not many people seem to know about us... it's all tri delt and kappa kappa gamma LETS MAKE OURSELVES A NAME LADIES !!

that's EXACTLY what i'm talking about girls!! so someone out there who reads these posts -- at convention this summer, TALK TO NATIONALS ABOUT THIS!! i know the colonization process is not the EASIEST thing in the world (i talked to some girls from pi last summer at convention) BUT we should definetly give it a shot! i'm glad there are sisters out there who are feeling me!

Colonization is not the easiest thing, but it sure as hell isn't the HARDEST either! If 32 women outta 40 can make things happen at Iota Gamma (I being one of them...) then it must not be that bad!
Colonize! Colonize!
Who would we talk to about getting colonies started?? Cuz if there were any colonies being built in Southern Cali, I'm all about going out there and helping them recruit... Helping them with everything they needed!
What do you think??

I would love to see Phi Sig expand more too...especially since there are only 2 Canadian chapters...so many phi sigs don't even know we exist. (perfect example is convention's theme this year)
But Phi Sig does do more work behind the scenes than we know about...I surfed onto a local sorority's website...they wanted to go national and invited many groups to their camous...Phi Sig looked too, but decided we didn't have enough alum support for colonization.
So this just shows that national is looking around, but maybe we should urge them to look harder

EVERYONE EVERYONE please E mail national and tell them to look into Nu Beta Omicron... (you can read about it in the rush at UCSC thread in greek life.. or rush forum I think) THIS GIRL NEEDS TO BE A PHI SIG !!!!! San Francisco chapter I"m sure would be glad to help them through the colonization process... I wrote national to tell them about this local looking to become national.. but haven't heard anything and as far as I know only alpha Xi Delta is going to present to these girls so far.. Maybe if we all write and say... there is a group of girls VERY interested in giong national at UC santa Cruz they will listen and contact this girl who started Nu Beta Omicron. !!!

Possible Schools
Do we have names of possible schools we could look into expanding at?
I know for in Cali we mentioned USC, UCLA and Berkelely... Basically just trying to re-colonize at those three schools. I know that some alumn in the South Bay area were looking at CSU Los Angeles and CSU Fulltertin. There was UC Santa Cruz... And what about San Diego??
But what about on the East Coast and down South? What schools are by your chapter, that you think would benefit from having a Phi Sig chapter there?

The most recent directory I have is last November's...and that looks to be Lynn's email...but if you zoom in it is psychoff@visi.com. You may also want to email members on the extension committee, or chapter consultant's since that is one of their main jobs...in fact, according to my directory, at least two past consultants are on the extension committee Casey and Michele...if you want their emails let me know.
anyway, hope this is useful
