MTV sorority life

Did any of you watch mtv's sorority life last night? Do any of you have thoughts on this?

I did not watch it but one of my sisters did, she is at conventions right now other wise she would tell you all about it. I called her during it and she said that it was not too bad.

I've been watching, and I have mixed feelings about it. One one hand, everything that they are showing on TV could be very realistic in a GLO. . .you may have new members or even sisters that are causing others problems. And the way they are dealing with things seems realistic in the fact that the sisters don't have much experience dealing with these problems before.

HOWEVER, what MTV chooses to show and not show is NOT realistic, and is causing PNM's problems in figuring out what is real and what is not. They are showing all the drinking, and none of the sisterhood. People are split with the pledge house, which is not good at all.

SOOOOOO. . . I can see the reality, but I can also see the spin MTV puts on it, which is more of the downfall in the long run.

I have two big issues with the show....
(1) The fact that there are only a few of the pledges in the house, the only ones they focus on, warps the who pledging process... if me and my pledge sisters were put into a house it would have turned out so different...
(2) The editing of the show only protrays the pledges like selfabsorbed jounior alcholics which I refuse to believe they truly are... i mean they have to study sometime and aren't they required to do philanthropy work (i doubt we will ever see that on MTV)
All in all the show is interseting enough but I doubt that if I wasn't greek that I would watch it...

i don't like it! but i'm kinda worried about the image it is giving. We are on a pretty anti-greek campus and suffer cause there are some shady stuff w/ hazing and the other houses. we don't haze but the drinking w/ candace and jordan makes every greek look like some kind of future AA member. and that booty dancing. hello! they're on camera! what do their parents think. my parents saw the show and flipped. i don't know. kinda rambling, but it could make it harder for some women to join.
