I love being a former KD daggerman

I work in St. Augustine FL and the other day at work i was wearing my sig hat and this lady in her mid 30's came in and was like hey where are you a sigma chi at? I told her Univ of N. FL and she was like well im a KD from Texas. So im like no way...well In AOT and Ta kala Diokomen...im a daggerman. She was like NO WAY!!!! We talked about sigma chi and KD for a bit and then she gave me a hug(which was kinda wierd) and then about an hour later she came back and gave me a white rose..the flower of KD, and her husband took a picture with me. But just wanted to give a huge shout to all the lovely Kappa Delta's out there hooking their daggerman up!

The little that I know...

I don't know much about the connection, but I have been told that Sigma Chi is our "brother" fraternity, as their founders helped in the creation of our ritual. Our pledge manual is The Norman Shield, Sigma Chi's also have a Norman Shield. Maybe someone who is more enlightened than I can give some details.
Fun KD/SX Facts:
- We are 2002 Homecoming Partners, (along with the fine guys of Beta Theta Pi.)
- At the local Bennigans, on the walls on either side of the entrance are a big Sigma Chi (greek letters) and on the opposite side, a Kappa Delta. Other than AKPsi, we are the only GLO's to have our letters in the restaurant.

Ive had a busy year with being Magister(pledge educator). Getting on greek chat is more of a summer thing for me but i have been able to get online and look at the board once a month during the year. Plus i have no girl anymore so i have more time on my hands. But the whole AOT thing is for shockvalue...i know about half of what it means cause i happened to walk into my girls room at the time when she was doing post initiate training to the new girls...she was like get outta here now! I was like oook i think i just walked into something i shouldn't have. But for the next week i was like well in AOT to drive them crazy if i knew what it meant of not. But i do know a lot of KD history and stuff just because i wanted to know all about what i was representing when i was daggerman 2 years in a row!!!!! :-) You girls should have a national sweetheart...id win that one in a landslide! :-) hehe. I just think its so cool how we have similar things like the white rose, norman shield etc. and how even though i am no longer their sweetheart they still hook me up with a free rush shirt, dinner, and when i go to another school and they find out im a d-man they totally show me a good time and introduce me to all their sisters. Really awesome sorority and if i have a daughter she will go KD or nothing at all!!! :-) LOL.

UNFSigmaChi,

Which chapter of Kappa Delta are you a daggerman to? I don't think there is a KD chapter at UNF.

about the KD/ Sigma Chi connection there really isn't one. The Norman sheild is just a coincedence. The founders were helped out by some phi delta theta's from a nearby college. I remember this from the president's and emerging leaders conference when some one asked Julie Landgren Johnson if KD and Sigma Chi had some sort of relation.
