What about PIKES?
OK, I've been checking out these boards for a while now and I think I'm the only PIKE on here. SO, I want to know what everyone out there thinks of Pi Kappa Alpha -- in general or on your campus.

At Auburn and UGa I think they're big partiers.

Here at Rose, the Pikes are pretty active around campus, have pretty good grades, win a lot of competitions, but not a lot of people seem to like them. I have quite a few friends that are Pikes, but as a whole, the chapter seems to have an attitude that they are above everyone. Also, I have heard that quite a few guys wished they hadn't joined after they did, but went ahead and initiated anyway. I think they're the biggest fraternity on campus, but I think they gave out over 100 bids this year, when most everyone else gave out around 50... Make your own conclusions from that.

Well im sure all PIKE's aren't like this but the ones in Florida always start fights with their own brothers or with other people at bars. They got the boot from UF last year cause a brother raped a girl and a couple other brothers at the same party made a pledge drink a bottle of captn morgans and kicked him down the stairs when he was drunk.
They have a bad rep at every florida chapter but i did meet some cool pike's at mardi gras last year from Texas.

Pikes at my school(GMU) are the athletes, are big on numbers, known for their parties, hung out often with Chi Omega and some with AOII. I knew a few nice Pikes, but I thought many were snobbish. Of course you might say that about many chapters though on my campus. When I rushed them I didnt get a good feeling about them and they didnt choose me. So, I was thankful of that and found out the next semester when I rushed what was me. Beta. Actually I knew a cop on my campus that was pretty cool that was a Pike Alum from JMU. Or at least he claimed to be.

There are around 1600 undergrads, and that's including women. There are 8 fraternities, 6 of which are around the same size, average probably 70, one that has about 45, and one that has about 10-15. It used to be about 40% greek, but now I think it's closer to 30%, which still isn't bad!

PIKES are definitely one of the top3 at UCSD. Big, diverse chapter and overall good guys. I know someone mentioned the ones at their school were a lil disrespectful of women. While there's a few like that in the chapter here, their mostly extremely respectful. One pledge was even nearly kicked out because of how he handled himself around girls who weren't fully capaple of taking care themselves. He shaped up really fast, and I became so damn proud of those guys!

At my school, PIKE is one of the biggest and best houses on campus. They always seem to get more pledges than any other fraternity! They are GREAT guys and so much fun to mix with!

We do not have PIKES at my campus, however they were considered by our IFC expansion committee during our last round of expansion.
We sent out invitations to about 10 groups we were interestred in asking to campus. Of the 10 we asked, 4 were interested in expansion. They were KA's, Delta Sigma Phi, Pikes, and SAE's.
The delta Sigs were chosen because their expansion proposal rocked, and would really help with greek awarness on campus. We also really liked the Pike's, and considered changing our expansion plan just to include them, i.e., asking on Delta Sigs for this year, and then a year from now, allowing the Pikes to come on. Our lovely Greek Advisor shot that down, because that was not a part of the original expansion plan, even though we could handle two groups in two years, she felt it wasn't fair to change the rules in mid stream (even though they are OUR rules), so we were only allowed to have one to expand, the Delta Sigs. If I wanted an overly complicated expansion policy, we'd have asked Panhelenic to be incharge of the process. (Forgive me ladies, but I have NEVER been able to understand most NPC policy.)
So no, we wanted Pikes, but are going to have to go through the WHOLE process ALL over again, and it was too exhaustive last year. We'll probably wait a few years. The cool thing is that they are still very interested in our campus, so I am sure they'll be here in a few years.

You're not alone. I've been a pike for 2 semesters, and let me tell you Pi Kappa Alpha is the only Fraternity I would ever recommend to anyone. The people who said the Pikes on their campus's weren't all that great, well there are always a few bad apples in the bunch. Pi Kappa Alpha is Comprised of Scholars Leaders Atheletes and Gentleman, and for the most part we stand true to that. Pi Kappa Alpha is the biggest social Fraternity and the most dominant.

PIKE is our brother frat up at UVM. We do a lot of events with them. They have a pretty good reputation here. Lots of them are athletic, and good looking.

At ECU, PIKE'S are very rougish and crude, sad to say. They do not represent the ideals of that organization well.
