I was watching a Three's Company re-run and Janet had on a pair of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. Oh, the memories!!! Summer between 8th and 9th grade I wanted a pair of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans more than ANYTHING! I asked my mom but she told me in no uncertain terms "NO WAY!". I told her Belinda and Debbie from my junior high school had them and THEY got free lunch, so why couldn't WE afford them? My mom informed me that it was probably BECAUSE they got free lunch that THEY could afford them! So, I worked at the autobody shop my uncle owns doing cleaning, filing and answering phones to save up the $48.00 the jeans cost. That was A LOT of money to me! lol Finally, I was able to purchase them and, boy, were they sharp! Dark denim with red piping down the sides and Gloria Vanderbilt's signature in red thread on the back right pocket (
) I was so proud of them! I swear, life was so simple back then
