Is it acceptable to rush the same sorority twice?

That makes a big difference. Yes, it's OK to rush again.

Sure. You can always try again.
You need to think about what you're going to do differently to obtain a different outcome, though.
You also need to know that you may have created a negative impression during your first recruitment and you may not be able to overcome that impression.

Phi Sigma Pi, I presume.
You are permitted to attend recruitment events a second time. I would suggest showing more interest by attending all events you are able to attend and talking to as many brothers are possible. But, this:

Phi Sigma Pi chapters are given the autonomy to determine the number of new members they want to take each semester. When I was a collegiate, for example, my chapter would set our quota each semester based on the maximum number of chapter members we wanted to have. However, if we decided we wanted to take 30 new members but determined that only 20 potentials would become initiates, then we would only take 20. As with all other greek organizations, membership selection is private.

I cannot speak for the specific chapter you are interested in because I do not know the members or the campus culture. Additionally, I have not been an active member for 5 years. Therefore, quite honestly, I don't remember who did or didn't rush; who we did or didn't take. What I do know is that my chapter was always friendly and open to anyone that attended our recruitment events.
Now, if you were accepted into an initiate class and then later released (before initiation), I would not recommend you pursue it further.

If I was a PSP member and saw this thread, I'd put the kibosh on you for referring to my group as a sorority. By basically saying "it's the same thing since the majority membership is girls" you completely miss the point.

Fall semester, however, they get far fewer rushees (since there are no freshman because they have a GPA requirement) so I think I would have a good chance at getting in. They said it's fine to try again in the fall. The only problem is that I would be a junior (then again, only sophomores+ would be rushing then).
If you ask why I don't try another, it's because this is the only one that doesn't cost an insane amount of money. Otherwise I would.

You said you chose this organization (honor fraternity) because it's cheaper than the others (sororities) on campus.
1. Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity =/= A Sorority. Members are called BROTHERS.
2. Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity =/= NPC social sororities
The reason why costs are not "an insane amount of money" compared to "the others" is because they are not the same type of organizations.
I really hope that you didn't tell people that the only reason you rushed the Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity is because it's cheaper than the social sororities on campus. I'm sure the members would be thrilled to know that.
While I am sure that membership in Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity is enjoyable, rewarding and an incredible experience, it's not going to be anything like being a member in a social sorority (if that is what you are seeking), and should not be pursued simply because it costs less money.
