Advice on rushing as a junior?

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on going through sorority recruitment as a junior? I will be transferring to a Big 12 school in Texas from a community college, and I really want to get involved in something great, I'm just worried that my junior standing may hold me back. Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated! (Just so y'all know, my username really has nothing to do with where I will be transferring to).

Be prepared for severe cuts and be happy with the invitations you get, even if it's to THAT chapter. You will still have a happy and fulfilled collegiate sorority experience even if it's not in one of the most selective chapters.

Do your homework on GC, work on your social graces (especially important in Texas I think), make sure you have your recommendations in line (and really work for GOOD recs, not just check the box type recs), and be your most interesting charming self.

UT's recruitment is pretty brutal. Take DubaiSis's advise and reach out to whomever you know in their system before silence begins.

Muy Importante: You should attend the nearest alumnae panhellenic presentation on recruitment in Texas. You will hear great advice that you can get no where else. Additionally, you will make great connections with the alumnae that might lead to a recommendation-something that is a must at most Texas colleges.
