Outfit ideas
Im rushing at a competitive SEC school in three days! Can't wait. I've already bought quite a few dresses with shoes and accessories but i can't really decide which ones to wear. I'd love to have the input of you ladies!
Here are links/pictures to some of them:
"Cobalt" blue:
http://store.delias.com/item.do?item...ategoryID=2022
Light blue:
http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban...sp?id=24679656
Mint:
Red with cutout:
I also have a dress that is similar in style to the ones above (high neck, sleeveless) that has red dots that are a lace overlay to an orange slip. If you understand what I'm describing. Keep in mind all of the dresses are a little bit longer on me (hit right above my knee) because I'm only about 5'3.
Also, for pref, is it better to stick with a classic style (belted, black, and high necked tulip shaped dress) or would one that has a v neck and a belt as well as a little bit of ruffle also appropriate? Any and all critique is appreciated! Thanks!

I think it's safer to err on the side of classic and more conservative. The back on the red dress doesn't seem appropriate to recruitment...plus, you can't wear a bra with it, and that would also be an issue.

I think the mint one is cute and classy, and if you accesorize it correctly it can really pop. As for the other dresses I was able to view, I don't think they are appropriate enough. They're too trendy and immodest rather than classy and conservative as others have said. Check out Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, and J. Crew for some classy options that you can wear long after recruitment.

I second everything Victoriana said. Department stores should still have a good selection right now. too. If cost is a factor, most department stores are having good sales and if you or your parents open a credit card with the store, they will often give you a promo discount as ranging from 15-25%. Macy's does this often.

I know this is true at JCPenney, Macy's, Gap, and Banana Republic. Ann Taylor Loft gives a student discount if you show your ID. Not sure about Nordstrom's.

Nordstrom does not or at least not the one my boyfriend worked at.

The mint one is the most flattering and appropriate.
Remember you're tying to impress girls!
Think classy.

Again most of these are inappropriate. The mint one COULD work if it's long enough. For an SEC school what pops in my mind is always-- LILLY. You should be looking for things that are classic, and that you could wear to church, not to a damn night club.
And if money is a huge issue-- try a very high end consignment store. It should come down past your knees, be conservative, and ooze class and style. TIMELESS not TRENDY.

If you are rushing in a few days, it is going to be hot as blue blazes, so think about natural fabrics and avoid synthetics.

Oops, not sure why the first link didn't work. but its a darker blue dress, high necked, and with pleats and no cutouts around the back. I take it any sort of cutout is a bad idea?

Also, I know Lilly is BIG here, but even aside I find the prices of her dresses a bit ridiculous I'm just not that big of a fan of the patterns. At least on myself. And I don't want to feel like I'm in a recruitment costume haha.

It's ok to not be a Lilly fan. Find a style/designer/brand that works for you. Calvin Klein makes nice sheath dresses. J Crew has a nice assortment in their bridal section. BCBG has cute dresses for the earlier rounds.
