Canadian Schools & Sororities?

Do any of you go to UofT, UofWO, or UBC and can tell me about the greek life at those schools? Which ones have special housing for soroity members? Im just looking to find out what people think of them! Also, are there any other Canadian schools with good greek systems? Tell me about them please!

don't the colleges have websites that include at least some of this information?

/edit -- I tried this crazy new invention called GOOGLE and found out for myself. You should try it!

I ended up COB'ing Theta at UBC. Best decision I ever made, however, it doesn't make for a very interesting recruitment story

OP, I bet if you use the search function in the recruitment forum you will find a gold mine of information.

People who've posted have given you as much information as they are comfortable giving.

The way you keep asking for details - it's kind of creepy, actually. People around here get nerjus when a newbie come on the site and starts probing for specifics. Just sayin'...

It's good to be enthusiastic, but realize it's easy to get TOOINYOURFACE. You have 2 years of high/secondary school left. Be an active student (clubs, sports, etc), keeps your grades up, figure out what ELSE you want to do after you graduate, because greek life won't pay the bills after you graduate from college. Then look at programs of study and pick your school based on what you want to have a degree in, not on their greek life. THEN you can worry about getting a bid from a sorority. You'll do fine, but prioritize.

This!

There's certainly nothing to scoff at at any of the schools you've mentioned - they'd all be great choices and they all have great reputations. That said, I know UBC isn't easy to get into, so make sure your grades are up to par!

As far as the process goes, at UBC, it is very similar to American schools. We do have a formal recruitment process that is very much like the recruitment stories on this board. I know when I went through I was wondering how similar they are - and UBC's follows the traditional 3-round recruitment style that you can find at many schools on this board.

Although UBC Sororities do COB - you can find definitions by search function, I do know that most (if not all) sororities will be well above total after recruitment - so I'm not sure if that will be helpful to your research.

If you're from the Vancouver area, also be warned that your reputation will follow you from high school to UBC sororities. So - if you're the kind of girl who shows up at frat parties with a fake ID, just be warned that TONS of sorority girls are there, they are watching, and they are taking note of your behavior!

Good luck through the rest of high school - you can worry about recruitment then! It's not like the SEC schools, there's no need to worry about rec letters, or making a name for yourself beforehand. Many girls who rush don't know the first thing about Greek Life.

I'm not sure how it is in Canada, but in the US when you gratuate from high school, you will have a cumulative grade point average. That's what they look at, and it's an average over all 4 years of high school.
