Thanks! I appreciate all of your prayers for not only my family's safety, but everywhere else that this massive storm is having an impact.

Thank you AKA2D, for your concern. This has been one busy Hurricane season.

Smile I'm back!

Hi Everyone!

First of all, thanks for all of your prayers and thoughts, phone calls and pm's during this time. We rode out Hurricane Frances at home and suffered some shingle damage (subsequently causing leaks inside the house) but we're doing just fine. Of course, hubby and little btb87 slept through the whole storm while I was in bed, eyes wide open, listening to the wind (at about 90 mph)and shingles do their "Lord of the dance" imitation across the rooftop! Yeah, it was scary!

Our power and phone was restored Tuesday morning, so we were without power for only 2 days. I say only because there are still many people in my area that still don't have power, and these nights are miserably hot. Just got internet access today.

I took a few pictures of some of the results of the storm, and these are some of the better results. A co-worker's apartment had the roof ripped off, and I understand she lost everything. We saw mobile homes with parts of their rooftops across the street in other people's yards, and trees on rooftops.

Here's my roof after the storm taken Sunday afternoon about 3:00. The back of the house is worse, and notice that the carriage light was blown 90 degrees to the right. The winds during the time of this picture were still about 30 mph.

Here's a signal at a main intersection. There are supposed to be 2 or 3 other signals here, but they didn't make it.

And sometimes you gotta laugh to keep from crying about events like this. Here's a sign I saw on Labor Day, 24+ hours after the storm left our area.

I'm supposed to return to work Monday, but Ivan may say otherwise. I hope this is it for this all too busy hurricane season.
