Lord of the Flies Recruitment
PNM is rushing at a small school with only three chapters.
Jack
Ralph
Simon
(No Piggy, because who wants to be Piggy? The chapter who is known as nothing but "the fat boy" until page 5 who constantly complains about his asthma, gets his glasses stolen, and is eventually killed by a giant falling rock? No, thank you.)
PNM didn't know much about the chapters going into recruitment, but was excited to meet them. Her campus' recruitment is not very strictly structured (compared to what I'm used to since most of the girls I know go to bigger schools with more chapters).
Their format:
Day 1 - Orientation/Meet and Greet
Day 2 - all PNMs visit all 3 houses
Day 3 - all PNMs visit all 3 houses
Day 4 - Day off, PNMs receive Pref invites
Day 5 - Prefs
Day 6 - Bid day

you have taken your theme for stories in an unexpected direction. And you made me laugh. Look forward to another stellar recounting from the Cliff's Notes of Recruitment Stories!

If you think about it, sorority recruitment is a lot like crash landing on an island and having to fight for your life. Or at least my recruitment was.
I've actually got slightly more info for this one. Get excited!

Days 1-2
On the first day of recruitment, PNM and friends met their Pi Chis and learned about the recruitment process. It was more of an orientation, so no exciting news.
On day 2, they held an open house at the student center so PNMs could meet members of all three sororities and get to know a little bit about the chapters. The chapters were each set up in separate rooms, and the PNMs got to spend a little time in each room.
JACK
The Jacks seemed like a lot of fun. They were very talkative and PNM enjoyed spending time with them. They talked a lot about their social events.
RALPH
The Ralphs were super laid back. PNM felt so comfortable even just in the initial conversations with them, like they were already friends! They talked about involvement on campus as well as athletics. She definitely felt an immediate connection here.
SIMON
The Simons were really sweet girls. PNM liked that they had a clear focus on academics. They seemed to be very involved on campus. PNM really liked spending time with them, though she didn't feel as instantly comfortable as she did with the Ralphs.
PNM was excited to visit the three chapters on day 3 for house tours!

Well, mystical experiences with pigs' heads might make regular involvement on campus awkward. How do you go from that to the homecoming committee meeting?
Love the theme!

Being a fan of "darker" movies and books, I am TRULY inspired by this thread. Though I am just an occassional poster here, I am now motivated to find, and follow up on a PNM next fall so I can write a "Silence of the Lambs" thread. Oh, the poor chapter that gets assigned "Hannibal"...

The Buffalo Bills will no doubt sing their signature door song:

Congrats to your PNM on Chi Omega. I sure hope you have some more PNM recruitment stories in the near future- I love them. You provide just the right amount of detail, but you have a great amount of creativity with your themes.
I'd much rather read the love/really like/like etc. than all the thousands of ways people try to skirt around the fact that they didn't like XYZ group for whatever reason.

Thanks! I write them like I like to read them... to the point and without all the beating around the bush.
I have two more rec girls rushing this year, so I'm hoping for updates from them!
