What is your favorite word(s) that you never get to use?

a few of mine:

tenacity, subterfuge, sagacity, gesticulation, guffaw.

...c'mon, everybody play.

Recalcitrant
Obstreperous
Beseech

When I do use these, I get strange looks. Ergo, I don't. Use them. Except with one or two other word geeks.

I actually get to use recalcitrant often enough as it is quite a normal word in Dutch.

There are so many words that I don't get to use at all, I only use English part-time, and have been for three years. Being bilingual is fun, but I do miss a lot of English words. The Dutch have an amazing grasp of the English language, but a lot of words I love will just result in blank stares.

Among my favorites:

Mellifluous
Dalliance
Perpetual

I use this word a lot, but I like to play with it as well: when I need a second to get my stuff together I'll say "Let me combobulate" or if I'm all over the place I'll say that I'm discombobbled, etc. It's one of my favorite words too.

Words I never get to use:
spackling
rotisserie
desafortunadamente (Spanish for unfortunately)
