“Delta Adopts Saudi Arabian Airlines’ No Jew Policy.“ Not really.

"This afternoon The Huffington Post published an article by Rabbi Jason Miller entitled Delta Adopts Saudi Arabian Airlines’ No Jew Policy. Granted, this headline is catchy and is inflammatory enough to make the story go viral … likely even to reach my Mother, who will be outraged and possibly forward me a link sometime in the next few days … but in reality so much of the article is incorrect that I don’t even know where to start."

I feel like you posting it with nearly as inflammatory a headline rather misses the point.

Yeah that's how HuffPo stays relevant.

As are most of their articles. Considering that most of HuffPo's "reporters" are either activists or celebrities could you really expect anything else?

Um, I think this dude really misses the point. You need a visa to go to Saudi Arabia. If you don't have a visa, Delta is not going to let you on a flight that terminates in Riyadh. I'm sure it's the same for every country there is.

DBB: Here are a few follow-ups that add a few more bits of information into the story line:

This being a GREEK message board, I was thinking DST. Kinda goes against their whole principal, though, so meh.

The title of this thread was very disconcerting: If one reads it quickly it comes across as a very different (and wrong) thread about a fraternity or sorority. Please don't...

The fact is that if a Jew wants to travel to, Dubai for instance, and that person has been to Israel (or is Israeli) they will not be allowed in. Shahar Peer (Israeli tennis player) was not permitted into Dubai for one of the world's premiere tennis tournaments. The next year Andy Roddick boycotted the event because of the policy. Yeah Andy.

Does Delta airlines refuse to allow Jews on their airline? Oh course not.

I hate to even begin to defend this headline, since the OP can't bother to reply to the thread, and was irresponsible in posting it as is, but since Airlines are referenced in the title, and it's in the News and Politics forum I think it's safe to say that it has nothing to do with any GLO and even a confused scan is easily clarified at a second glance.

Sadly the point of this story is that there was no story to begin with. Or a the very least not all too much factual story. Much like ACORN, PBS, NPR and Planned Parenthood.

However, as in those cases, damage has been done to the target: Delta. And will continue for the time being as people will remember or hear about the original story much more than the follow-up fact-checks.

Why in the world would you post it in a way that caused the same confusion. Your post and run style is strange.
