Red face Utica College Campus

I am in my third year at Utica College and I am very interested in Greek life. I was sitting in one of my classes and I happened to look at the door and see a female walking down the hall wearing an Alpha Phi shirt. I was wondering if anyone knew of a chapter on the Utica College Campus. If so, how can i get in touch with them?

Arrow Hmm...

I don't know much (oh, okay, anything) about Utica College. I did look it up on the web and saw that it is somehow associated with Syracuse University (?). If this is the case, Alpha Phi does have a chapter that you might investigate. The chapter is our Alpha (or first and founding) chapter.

Alpha Phi was founded in 1872 by the ten of the first 20 women to be admitted to Syracuse University.

Now, I don't understand the relation between Utica College and Syracuse, but if it is a "division" or "subdivison" of Syracuse, definitely look into it. If not, I have checked the Alpha Phi headquarters site at http://www.alphaphi.org , and there is no listing under "Utica College."

To look into it, contact the Greek Affairs (or Dean of Students) office at Syracuse University. They will be able to tell you how to go about going through recruitment. They will also be able to provide you with information about all of the other sororities on campus.

Greek life is truly wonderful, and if you are interested, resources are out there to help you learn how to get involved.

Good luck!

Jen

Definitely--if you're in anyway eligible to join the Syracuse chapter, check into it.

As Jen said, it is our founding chapter and a real jewel in the crown of Alpha Phi.

Let us know if you have questions.

Hey there, i graduated from SU this past spring, so maybe I can be of some help. i did some poking around for ya on this (actually all I did was call a friend of mine who works in the greek office at SU.) The deal is , Utica college is part of syracuse administration, but I'm not sure that you'd be eleigible to even enter rush, becuase you aren't a main campus su student. SUNY ESF is right next to main campus, and they are allowed to go through rush, so if thats the case, you might be able to. But unless I'm off, how would ya manage that, you're like 45 minutes away right? Not sure it would be feasible. At any rate, the greek office at SU is 315 443 2635. They should be able to help you out. Good luck with pursuing Alpha Phi, they're a great bunch of ladies.
