It probably won't stop the questions, but it might help.
And KSUViolet, if you're a member of the same Laker Nation I'm part of, you have excellent taste in basketball teams!

No one would read the sticky unfortunately. We'd need to name the thread the name of the school and add "FREE DESIGNER SHOES" after it (stolen from 33girl)

Excerpts from the August 9 online student paper:
Entire article at:
http://www.redandblack.com/2010/08/0...or-pnm-influx/
August 9, 2010 by DALLAS DUNCAN
Filed under Featured, Greek Life, News, Student Groups
Seven days. Seventeen houses. Sixty-eight counselors — and more than 1,100 women working their way toward new friends, “family” and unique collegiate experiences as Panhellenic sorority recruitment hits campus. . . .
Megan Janasiewicz, a student affairs specialist who serves as advisor to the Panhellenic Council, said as of July 12, 1,156 women were registered for recruitment.
“We think we’ll probably get to 1,250,” she said. “Last year we had 1,208, and the year before that close to 1,300.”
Out of those 1,250, Janasiewicz said each sorority would have a quota of between 54 and 60 new women. She said mutual eliminations occurred at the end of each of the three rounds PNMs go through during recruitment, where PNMs rank their top sororities and sororities rank their top PNMs.
. . . Janasiewicz said besides complaints about the weather, the main feedback her office gets is from parents asking why their daughter did not receive a bid into a certain sorority.
“Unfortunately, we have moms that think the world is going to end,” Janasiewicz said.
She said she tries to tell PNMs to think for themselves if their relatives or friends are trying to pressure them into choosing one sorority over the other, or choosing to withdraw from recruitment or not. . . .

Because UGA is a SEC school, it has a competitive recruitment. On the upside, a large majority of PNMs find homes there and end up enjoying their experience in a sorority.
Because of the competitive nature of SEC schools, be sure to get recs to all of the houses if you can. You will be surprised by how many women you know that were in sororities and can help you with recs.
Good luck with recruitment!

I am hoping someone is going to keep us updated on UGA rush. I friend of my daughter's is rushing as a junior transfer - hoping things will work out for her - she knows it is going to be tough.

I have a daughter who is going through now, they are in the Second Round today. (I am posting the little bits of news I get from her under Recruitment stories...and I hope some other moms/dads will do the same. I learned so much from reading the old threads about UGA from a couple of years ago.)
We did get a page of Recruitment Statistics in our packets at the parent orientation which was really interesting. It listed the percentages pledged, withdrawn, released and mismatched for 2007, 2008, and 2009. In 2007, 74% pledged, 22% withdrew, 3% were released, and 3.9% mismatched. In 2009, 78% pledged, 13% withdrew, 4.8% were released, and 0.6% mismatched. It also broke down the number that withdrew/were released by rounds.

The girls are not as polished as the past couple of years - I'm not sure that this is a bad thing.

The Snooki Effect? LOL
Please tell me that the girl wearing the blue vest w/ the flair on it is either a Rho Chi or the bus driver.
