Appliance paint
I'm watching a HGTV show where they spray-painted a white refridge to black to match the rest of their newer appliances.
Just wondering if anyone had sprayed their appliance and how/if it worked or a waste of time/effort.
We bought stainless steel mircrowave, stove and dishwasher. We are planning on taking the refridge with us anyway; couldn't decide on a new refridge b/c people are particular (freezer on top, bottom..etc.)

What color is your fridge? If it's stainless steel don't spray paint it, but if its that plastic covering that a lot of older/cheaper fridges have then I say go for it.

It's the regular white with the kind of textured feeling.

does the door/s have a slot? the model we bought years ago had a thin metal edge that went around the bottom and the side of the doors.(a side by side). we were able to purchase 2 thin sheets of stainless steel which we slid into the slots and voile'- the appearance of a stainless steel fridge.

Years ago (early 90's) we painted an almond colored one white. It was okay but never as good as one with white as the original color. I am sure technology has improved tons since then but at the time we did not have loads of cash and the actual refrigerator worked fine. We kept it for several years until replacing it with a new side by side.

In a story that my grandmother loves to retell - she had all of her pink appliances (purchased for her 50s dream kitchen) painted gold (so 70s) and it lasted for the rest of the life of the appliances.
axoalum - I had to laugh when I read your post because my mother is adamant about calling our kitchen appliances "almond" and not "off white" or "beige." She couldn't find an almond microwave and had to settle for a white one, which I'm pretty sure she's still pissed about lol.
