Did you name your car in high school?

The other day, a high school senior told me her friends named her care "The Toaster" because it looked like a toaster oven. (2002 Honda Element).

When I was in high school, my car was named "The Blue Ghost" (1970 Blue Olds Delta 88). A friend of my brother's named it because we cruised late into the night taking home our friends.

Did you name your car in high school and what was it?

My first car was a black and white Topaz. I named it "Demented Penguin Ghost" I have no clue how or when "Demented Ghost" poped into my head, but my grandmother gave me the money for the car, and she LOVES penguins, so the car got a middle name in honor of her.

The second car I had was a 88' Celica named "Pleasure". It was a stick and oh so fun to drive.

The light blue S10 I have is named "Blue Lagoon" The F-I-L's friend was selling it, and we decided to buy it, unseen. (F-I-L's a mechanic) Hubby wore a light blue polo the day we seen it for the first time. That was weird. The color reminded me or a lake I love to take my dogs to, so I named it "Blue Lagoon"

In high school??!! I still name my cars!

1st car (2000) 1994 maroon Ford Explorer named PRINCESS. Capitals are essentials
2nd car, 2007 Kiwi Green Ford Focus- lulu.
3rd car, 2008 white Mitsubishi Pajero- Paj
Current car, 2009 Forest Green Jeep Wrangler, GI Jeep.

I've convinced the Boy to name his cars; his focus was Senior Foci, the Pajero was both of ours, and now his work car is a 2008 Ford Explorer we named The Exploder.

Yup! My first car was a total clunker--1992 Hyundai Excel. It wasn't very old but it'd been my sister's and she'd practically ruined it before I got it. Her name was "Glory" because the first thing I said when I got it was "Glory Hallelujah, I've got a car!!!!!!!!!"

No kidding. That really is what I said. I was 17 and SUPER excited.

I didn't have a car when I was in high school. But my parents commuted to work together, so my mother left her car at home... so I drove it to school during my senior year. She later gave me the car. Neither she nor I ever named it, though. (RIP)

When DH was in high school, he drove "The Old Girl", a Plymouth Caravelle that was powered by hamsters and went 0-60 in twenty minutes. I've driven it, and let's just say that a car that size should have more than 4 cylinders.

We've named our current cars, though. My Acura is nicknamed the Catcura because I'm a cat person. DH's Nissan SUV is nicknamed the ha'tak, after the Goa'uld motherships from Stargate SG-1.

I got my black 2000 Honda Civic when I was a freshman in high school and, naturally, the only name that I felt appropriate was "Blackie Chan." I usually just call it "Blackie."

I am stumped at finding a name for my silver Honda CR-V, usually referred to as the Sorority Utility Vehicle.

Actually, I picked the name, because that's about how big the SUV is. (Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a pyramid to park the damn thing on?? )

DH sometimes refers to my car as "the death glider" - but I'm not sure if he's referring to its small size and maneuverability or my Masshole driving skills. Probably the latter . . .

In High School I used Dad's spare car and had no name for it. In college I had a classic restored 1964 Impala SS Convertable, fire engine red with white leather upolstery and a white drop top. Everybody called it "the Red Baron" and the name just stuck. My brother loved the car so I gave it to him when I graduated and deployed to Germany. He still has it and keeps it in fantastic condition. While I was working on my MA in England I got a restored 1984 XJ6 4.2 Ltr Jag, Brit Racing Green with chocolate leather interior. I sent it home and still have it today. Great car, answers to "the Green Hornet". My sister bought a 2003 4 cylinder Morgan, Midnight blue with bone leather interior that did not have a name until she saw the NCIS episode where Dr. Mallard had a Morgan. Now she calls it "Ducky's Car".

Pretty unrelated, but I could never think of a name for my car, but I named my saxophones: Albert, Bernard, and Bertha.

The first car that was MINE (not borrowed from family) was a red 1994 Honda Civic HB named Calvin. I had him up until about a year and a half ago when I purchase a yet-to-be-named silver Honda Fit.
