You Know You Love Me... A Gossip Girl Recruitment

I have one last girl who was good enough to send me recruitment updates and now that she is past her bid day, I've got one last fall '09 recruitment story for you!

Houses at her school:
Alpha Chi Omega
Alpha Delta Pi
Alpha Gamma Delta
Delta Delta Delta
Phi Mu
Zeta Tau Alpha

Names for the houses:
Blair
Nate
Chuck
Dan
Serena
Vanessa

And since there's only 6 houses and not room enough for all of the main characters' names, we'll call the PNM Jenny.

LITTLE J'S RECRUITMENT AT [SMALL PRIVATE COLLEGE]
Prior to recruitment, Jenny had gotten to know lots of Blairs and she was pretty certain that she would end up a Blair. Friends of Jenny's from high school had pledged Blair and Dan at other schools earlier this fall, and she had another high school friend who pledged Nate at another school last year. These connections to these chapters, especially Blair, definitely made them early favorites for her. However, she saw other friends at other schools get burned by pinning all their hopes on specific houses, so Jenny set her mind to... well, keeping an open mind.

DAY ONE
In order, Jenny visited:

Nate: Jenny loved this chapter! She particularly liked that they were wearing her favorite color in addition to the great conversations she had here.

Chuck: Jenny was not a big fan of this chapter; she found the conversations stilted and uncomfortable. If she is able to drop any chapters for day two, she will most likely drop Chuck.

Blair: Jenny was as comfortable at Blair as she knew she would be! They are a close tie with Nate for her favorite, but at this point she would still prefer Blair since she knows girls here already.

Serena: Jenny did not really like or dislike this house. If she is able to drop two chapters for day two, she will drop Serena in addition to Chuck, but she would be totally willing to come back if she was not invited to the 4 she liked best.

Vanessa: Jenny liked Vanessa and thought the house was pretty laid back. She would like to return to get to know them better.

Dan: Jenny like Dan in the same way that she liked Vanessa. She would like to return to get to know them better.

After day one, Jenny ranks the houses:
1/2. Nate/Blair (too soon to tell!)
3/4. Vanessa/Dan
5. Serena
6. Chuck

For day two, she will be able to return to up to 4 houses.

We'll see who she gets invited back to.

Okay I'm going to take this opportunity to sound like a cheesy teenager but I LOVE GOSSIP GIRL! The only good part about being sick is being able to watch it tonight

All right now that everyone can make fun of me lol. Anyways I have a love/hate relationship with most of the characters so I'm not sure who I'm pulling for lol.

For day two, Little J was invited back to:
Nate
Blair
Vanessa
Dan

During day two, Jenny loved Nate and Blair once again. She found them to be classy ladies that really matched up with her personality-wise. And even on the recruitment day when everyone was in jeans and a t-shirt she could still tell that her style really matches up with a lot of these ladies!

She is fairly certain that Nate and Blair are the houses that she will end up choosing between in the end, but, being friends with Suzie from the HIMYM rush thread (http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...d.php?t=107118), Jenny knows not to count her chickens before they hatch... anything can happen!

Jenny felt similarly about Vanessa and Dan, but liked Vanessa just a bit better. She thought both houses were filled with nice girls, but she just didn't feel like she was a perfect fit with the girls like she did at Nate and Blair.

After day two...
1/2. Nate/Blair
3. Vanessa
4. Dan

Four day three, Jenny can visit up to three houses. She is hoping for Nate, Blair, and Vanessa, but she will be happy with an invite to Dan, too. At this point, even though she has favorites, she's ruling no one out.

For day 3, Jenny got invited back to:
Nate
Blair
Vanessa

Her top 3! How exciting!

As she expected, she still loved Nate and Blair. While she thinks Vanessa is fine and all, she just doesn't see herself there the way she does Nate and Blair.

In terms of the Nate/Blair dead heat, she is starting to feel Nate pull away as her #1. Part of her feels that she likes Nate better because several girls she knows were released by Nate and she sees it as more exclusive than Blair (and thus is flattered by Nate's attention), but more than anything she just feels most at home there. The only thing that would make it difficult to choose Nate over Blair is that she already knows so many Blairs and isn't sure how they would react to her choosing another house.

After day 3...
1. Nate
2. Blair
3. Vanessa

For prefs, she can visit two houses. If invited to pref at Vanessa in lieu of one of her top 2, she will still attend, but she just doesn't see herself ending up there at this point.

Little J visited her top 2 for prefs, and here's what she thought:

Blair: Jenny loves these girls and has since she first got to know them. She wants to get closer to the friends she already has in this chapter and she feels like they are already accepting her as one of their own.

Nate: Jenny feels a kinship with these girls that is hard to describe. She just feels like so many of them are like friends she has known for years... even though she just met them.

Jenny really had a hard choice to make and cried (a lot) over it. She didn't want to turn down her friends in Blair when she really loved them, but she also felt a stronger connection to Nate.

In the end, she ranked them:
1. Nate
2. Blair

She knew she would be happy with either, but she was really crossing her fingers for Nate!

Sidenote: this is the first "perfect" rush that I have ever heard of, in which a girl was invited back to all of her top houses every round. How exciting for Jenny that she truly had her choice every round and got her first choice in the end!
