Family Tree Software or Program
What program or software does your chapter use to maintain the family trees?
ETA: For chapters who do just one pledge parent rather than two.

My chapter was real fond of the pen to paper program.
Meaning, we wrote them out on paper and put them in a binder.
It was imprecise then and I'm sure it's only gotten worse over time.

We kept track of ours on large rolls of paper. I think they've since been transferred to MS Word docs.

LOL..... how far back did the trees go at the time?
This is an example of what my chapter currently uses. It's pretty much some sort of add-on to MS Word, like Add --> Object or something. But it's a really tough program to use.
If it's not clear from the example, the tree goes back to 1966. So we'd need something that could do that.
Idea: Use the same program but just print it out on the big 14 x 18 paper?

As far as I know, my chapter doesn't have "official" family trees anywhere... however, there is a Greek Family Tree app on facebook that is pretty handy. Most individual families have their own tree set up on there. Mine goes all the way back to my Great-Great-Great-Great-Grandbig!

We had brothers create an Excel Macro linked to a brother database. It generates a tree of all the brothers in the fraternity when the Macro is run. All you need to do is add in the new brothers each semester and specify who their bigs are and it'll update it the next time you run the macro.

LOCK never came back with the answer.... we are continuing to use Add ---> Object ---> Org Chart in MS Word. If they get too big, we just start a new page.

My dad is really into genealogy, so he has a program called Family Tree Maker, and I've used it to make Sigma Kappa family trees.

Family Tree Maker is great for a family family tree, so I bet it would work great for an org as well. I am also partial to Visio for their org chart-- I like it better than MS Word. If you have MS Office, You probably have Visio as part of it.
