this is old, but it was one of my favorites:
Chi O in the City: Black t-shirts, with the skyline on it. Served in plastic martini glasses fruity flavored "cocktails", and had candy sushi for snacks. For decorations we had black and pink balloons and a HUGE 3D skyline Mural. You take black foam board and cut out a skyline with an exacto knife and tape white christmas lights to the back of it and hang it on the wall, plug it in and it glows. It cost like 5 bucks to make.
We also did a FRIENDS theme: black short sleeve t-shirt the said C.H.I.O.M.E.G.A (white lettering, alternating red and yellow dots between the letters), and the opening to our video was the Friends theme song.
I've seen Goddess themes (If you go greek, why not be a Goddess), I've seen Tiffany's themes, I've seen Movie Night themes (complete with popcorn and snacks)....I've seen many themes that go outside of trying to sell the founding purposes (sisterhood, friendship, community service, etc), and they're more geared toward having fun or looking cute. It just depends on what route you want to take.
