Recommend me a good iron supplement
I just found out I'm pretty anemic, and I'm supposed to take a supplement to remedy it.
I'm looking for something that causes nausea the least. I saw something in the store called "Slow Fe", supposedly it is a lot more gentle on your system. Has anyone tried SlowFe? Did you like it?

Ask a pharmacist or your doctor.

"SlowFe" is fine...any generic will work.
And eat spinach and liver. (yuk!)

I have had good luck with Slow Fe - but my advice is to take it AFTER eating and BEFORE you go to bed at night. That helps me avoid stomach problems.

I've discovered that if I take my iron supplement too closely to when I take my multi-vitamin, the combination really kills my stomach. So, now I take my iron with breakfast and dinner and my vitamin with lunch. Seems to help.

For a while, I was taking iron suppliments but was still anemic. The nurse at the Red Cross suggested that I start taking my iron with a Vitamin C tab because Vitamin C helps your body absorb iron. And magicly, two or three weeks later, my hematocrit was up enough to donate blood. Yay!

i was going to say the same thing...Vitamin C! also, there are multivitamins that are iron free, so get those if you want to avoid the extra iron. flinstones vitamins are great, i used those while i was pregnant because the iron made me sick as hell...

I just took regular iron sulfate pills...I get extreme nausea a lot and it has never triggered it for me.
