As always, I'm the odd man out here:
Nadia: I loved her, I love that song, always have. It's hard for me to rip on song choice because I honestly can't think of any song from 1973 that fit her very well. I wish we could see the list of songs they get to pick from. Her dress was very 1973. I think she was just dressing for the time period.
Bo: I loved him too. Great version of Freebird.
Anwar: It seems like he keeps doing the same song over and over. I don't remember now what he sang, so I guess it was forgettable.
Anthony: I thought he did alright last night but today on the radio they replayed bits of each performance and I figured out that during the chorus, they had background singers boosting him up a bit. They played the original version right after and Paul Young was going solo there... no backup singers. hmmmm
Scott: For most of that song he was off key and flat. I couldn't believe Hall & Oates gave him the thumbs up! (By the way, Hall & Oates were the first concert I ever went to!).
Vonzell: I like her and I think she's getting better all the time, but that song wasn't very tough either. I dunno, she was OK, but not great. I can think of other songs from that year that would have been better.
Carrie: I thought she did a great job with that song. She showed that she can sing more than slow country songs. I thought she should have dressed the part.. leather pants, head band, etc.
Constantine: I love him! He did a great job with what may be one of the hardest songs ever sung. There's a local bar band that rocks with that song and he rivaled them. I love Queen!
Those born in the 80's had a HUGE advantage over those born in the early 70's because the songs to pick from are so much better! (Then again, I was in high school/college in the 80's and just love the 80's!). I'm sad nobody sang any Journey. Perhaps they didn't give the rights for that.
