Not necessarily charities, but, they have national programs. For instance, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. has a national program entitled "A Voteless People Is A Hopeless People" that is a voter education and registration programs designed to encourage people to become envolved in the voting process. Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. have national programs to tackle the adult literacy. You basically have to find the organization who's programs are closest to what you think fits best with your values.
By the way, everything that I've told you can easily be found on the sororities or fraternities websites. The information is out there...a person just has to be willing to go out and look for it.
