My school was SO HUGE! My graduating class was the largest in the SouthEast in 2003. We could NEVER do anything on campus like prom with over 1,300 (guesstimate) graduating. (I say guestimate cos i KNOW not everyone graduated!) LOL! We always have our graduations in the local sports/concert arenas to fit in all the kids (on the ground level) and the families (in the lower and upper levels).
As for our prom, it was at a HUGE place called Signature Grand that looked like a mansion but is built specifically for weddings and receptions, quinces (sweet 15 for hispanic girls), sweet sixteens, debutes, etc as well as proms. It was an AWESOME night and the ballrooms are HUGE. The place is luxurious and way better than any hotel as it's sole purpose is for rental for the above reasons. We had a GRAND time
LOL and we had of course the biggest rooom available (it can also be closed up into like 3/4 separate rooms but it was wide opened up for our HUGE prom bash!
As for my dress, no one else in the entire WORLD has is cos I designed it (the basics anyways) my grandma made it. It is a huge gold and cream (gold in appearance though) dress with a petticoat so stiff it stands up by itself! It was the same one my aunt wore to her prom only my dress was so heavy my grandma had to add several yards of material to keep the dress up! When I started to dance low to the floor my dress required like 4ft of space for itself! LOL!
My boyfriend (who had a huge crush and was courting my neighbor at the time and took her to prom [before we got together of course!] STILL HATES IT! It was way too traditional for him and he likes those tight clingy dress but not me! WHO SAYS FLORIDIANS CAN'T BE SOUTHERN? It's my Georgia roots showing!
