Alright, since everyone else has posted their AI stories and I have never done mine I figure it is about time to go ahead and write my own.

After coming to the US my senior year of high school I really did not know anything about Greek life my freshman year of college. I had the opportunity to observe the Greek organizations during freshman year and was sad that I had not known anything and had not rushed. By my sophomore year, I was pretty certain I was not going to remain at College and was also way too involved with work and other activities to get involved. Later on I found Greekchat.com and learned about the alumni initiation opportunities that I was not aware existed prior. Being active Duty Army I had moved around a lot and never really got involved in anything “civilian” so I decided to look into pursuing AI. It was hard though, I didn’t know where to start so where better than GC. Because I was a transient to the WA area I had to start from scratch, I explored the local colleges web pages and the organizations that are big in the local area. A long time poster of greek chat’s points of view stuck with me and I later found out that she is relatively local to me (she knows who she is ) I researched her organization and loved everything I saw. Eventually in August or so I took the plunge and contacted the member close to me. We made arrangements to meet for lunch and then she took me to the local chapter and gave me a tour (it happened to be her chapter) We made arrangements to meet up again later on and for me to meet more members of the local alumni chapter. Since August I have attended several events with their chapter and have loved every minute of them. I am posting this now because I have an initiation date which is next week (Very excited) and thought it was finally time to post my story.

So next week, I will be a proud new member of Gamma Phi Beta.
