I agree. Having an animal is very expensive. I took my pug for his yearly checkup, shots, and all that. It was $244.00. I am getting some of the $$$ back since I have insurance but it is still expensive to come up with up front. I have 2 cats, also. Recently one of them got a UTI and needed to go to the vet twice. I don't have insurance for him and with all the visits and antibiotics, it was also over $200 for the care. If you don't have the savings or a credit card, I don't recommend getting a pet. I think I started a thread awhile back about the pros/cons of having a pet. I think many people need to be educated on this before they get one. I love my pets but they can be very burdomesome at times, but I made the decision to get them, so I need to deal with them. It's my responsibility and no one elses, and "giving them up" cannot be an option. That's like saying, "Oh my child is sick, I am going to give him away".
