Back in 8th grade, I told a friend that I recognized her Christmas gift from the dollar store. I was just making a statement, not accusing her of being cheap, but she was insulted, and our friendship was never the same. I haven't spoken to her in over 7 years.
But in my grown up world, one of my current mottos that I share with the chirren is, "If you ain't bold enough to repeat what you say, then don't bother saying it."
