I haven't been involved in this sort of thing in a long time, but I would think that wouldn't be a factor in itself, really...UNLESS that org had recently had several closings or unsuccessful colonies...things that evidence some instability that might make it harder for them to be successful. But then, I can't think of any group that really fits that mold more than any other....

I know DZ got hit pretty hard in the 70's w/chapter closings (including our Alpha Tau chapter @ UT), and it really shows in our active v. inactive chapter numbers. But I don't think that would be relevant to our ability to colonize now (see UF, Wake Forest, Clemson, Northridge, Arizona in recent years which have been quite successful b/c our expansion team ROCKS). Same goes for other orgs in the same situation.

I agree wholeheartedly that name recognition in Texas would be key to the success of any colony @ UT.

....And I might add that I would give my first born daughter to have DZ back at UT (if only so she could pledge there!!!). And I am only half-joking.....
