Well for starters there's not a whole lot of them left. And even fewer go on to public office these days. And even fewer stay out of a scandal. Ted Kennedy is an ancient relic from a world few people today can relate to. They relatively have no political influence anymore outside of Mass. Most people look at them like they're a joke.....like Ted Kennedy never really working a day in his life. It was different with Joe Kennedy and Joe Jr. and JFK and RFK. Those guys worked hard at what they did. But since them the family has declined. You could argue that John Kerry is a Kennedy and that he had influence. Well, thats true, but he didnt win the election and he will be forgotten in less than 10 years. And besides, look who was running against Kerry for the democratic nomination...Howard Dean??? C'mon. That guy is a bigger joke than Kerry. Fact is, the Kennedy family got its power quick and easy......and they lost it quick and easy. Its as simple as that.
