Lyn Collins, a sassy singer who was part of James Brown's band in the early 1970s, died Sunday night at the age of 56. Collins joined the James Brown Revue in 1970 and later cut saucy funk records backed by Brown's musicians. Her version of the Godfather of Soul's "Think" was sampled by Rob Base and D.J. E-Z Rock for their 1988 rap hit, "It Takes Two."
