Gamma Zeta
Thanks for the warm welcome.
I'm currently in Maryland (Fort Meade) for the second time in my career. After I enlisted, I spent about 4 years in Kansas....even had the opportunity to visit the Kansas State chapter, and assisted with their initiation ceremony one year.
If all goes well, I'll finish my career at Meade (of course there will be a deployment or two to the desert...perhaps sooner than I anticipated).
During my brief association with Gamma Zeta I recall many, many parties. I guess I was one of the hard-core crew that just couldn't seem to refuse any chance to get together and get drunk (hence my academic downfall....)
But I still look back at that time as the key to forming my personality and my transition from boy to man....
Also, and no question about this in my mind, I was able to make mistakes in an environment that did not have an severe repurcussions on my life. Where else can a person experiment so much with the wild side of partying and not incur the wrath of law enforcement. There was never even a question of getting behind the wheel of a car....hell, we could walk across the entire campus if need be; but never had too. Everyone came to our house....but those are memories for another day!
