If this is true, good for him for working AI to his advantage. He got a lot of exposure, without having the ridiculous contract ties that come with being in the top 12/10. In all honestly, those people get really screwed b/c they're AI's slaves for a year. I'm guessing that they don't get paid a huge wage, and probably not a percentage of the profits.
Kelly has had moderate success after winning AI. Ruben seems to have disappeared, at least from the pop charts. Fantasia didn't really do much in the pop charts either. Winning AI doesn't really seem to get you all that much.
