Wow, tough act to follow. But here's my attempt.
Hi, I'm Becky (this is where y'all say "Hi, Becky" back), and I am a rush thread addict.
I first logged onto GC at the suggestion of a sister, PinkRose1098, at work over the summer. Mainly just to pass the time, and my boss didn't mind because he was a DTD at Alabama back in the day and he could kind of keep up on things as well.
I, like Connie, started just checking the forum for my sorority, then got all bold and started checking out the Greek Life and Rush and other assorted forums as well.
At first it was just stuff like "Hi, I'm from Auburn, this is what we do here..." kind of stuff. Then, "This is what I think y'all should do; it's what I would do." Then it turned into gibberish in the General Chat Topics section.
And oh! The emails came in letting me know that someone thought I was important enough to give a reply (and sometimes even quote me!), and it was wonderful.
Then, I didn't clear the history on the computer when I was home one break. I turned my mom into a GC lurker! I now have conversations with my mom about conversations on GC!
I feel bad sometimes because I don't feed others' addictions--I try not to post during recruitment *just in case* I let something slip I ought not to. I did post a couple of times in the AZD forum, but they were after bids went out and Bid Day was over.
I just can't help it, and this makes me want recruitment to start up all over again.
