I think you might be confused...I've seen tons of things listed by brand name on ebay. The only time you can be in trouble for using a brand name is if it's a fake (like fake Prada bags & such) or if the name misleads. So if someone was selling an "Alpha Omicron Pi" pin and it was a safety pin with those Greek letters gliued on it, they would be in trouble.
Whether a pin "belongs" to a national org might be up for debate - apparently everything that says "all badges are the property of Alpha Phi" or whoever aren't legally binding or there wouldn't be selling of pins on ebay.
I don't agree with it either, but the issue of selling Greek badges on ebay has nothing to to with brand names or trademarks unless the GLO is misrepresented.
