UTSA and San Antonio Greek Life

A friend of a friend of mine is an ASA from UTSA and she enjoyed her experience there. They have Fall Formal Recruitment and follow a structure with Open House, 2 Rounds, then Preference. I think most of the NPC groups have been there about 25 years. Phi Mu was the newest in 99. I think chapters are around 50-60 members and New Member classes around 15-25 with all groups taking quota or getting very close.

Last thing I knew Misty Kelley was the Greek Advisor - mkelley@utsa.edu or 210.458.4160 - she would probably send you definitive info. I think they also have a Greek Program Advisor.

Greek Life in general is pretty active - http://www.utsa.edu/sa/greeklife/index.htm

I think most freshman now live in Chaparral Village, but I am not sure if greeks have suites or housing somewhere on campus or not... http://www.utsa.edu/Students/housing/house.cfm The campus is adding housing to improve campus life and make it more residential, but they are not building any additional housing at the downtown campus in the near future.

Other schools with Greeks in SA - St. Mary's and University of the Incarnate Word. (SATX*APhi can probably give you the scoop)

PHI MU - http://www.geocities.com/phimusorority (temporatily down)

Epsilon Sigma Alpha and Sigma Lambda Alpha are under PHC, but don't participate in formal recruitment. Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, and Kappa Delta Chi are members of the MGC.
