I did this once, and kept a journal. It was seriously like a withdrawal. T.V. is my drug of choice. But I also found that I thought more clearly and was able to focus more on other things. Now, mostly I don't watch television until the end of the day, when I don't care if I can focus or not.
Just be careful not to substitute something else for your television watching--like, don't spend all of the time that you would have spent watching t.v. on the internet--I think that is kind of cheating.
