Lance Armstrong will ride for a seventh consecutive Tour de France title.
After months of saying that he would hold off a decision until May, the 33-year-old Austin resident made the Tour announcement Wednesday on his fan Web site, Thepaceline.com, and on the site of his new Discovery Channel cycling team.
Armstrong also announced that he will ride again in the Tour de Georgia on April 19-24, giving American fans a chance to catch him in action at home.
He'll start his cycling season March 6 in the seven-day Paris-Nice race in France and April 3 in the Tour de Flanders in Belgium.
His schedule includes no races between the Georgia event in April and the Tour de France, which begins July 2.
He said he may add races to his schedule if his fitness permits it.
"I am excited to get back on the bike and start racing, although my condition is far from perfect," Armstrong said in a statement on the Web sites.
