This pisses me off to no end!!!
I am not an alumni of the program but I was a counselor as well as a teacher for Upward Bound. THOSE KIDS and their families NEED UB!!!!
No Upward Bound means less kids graduating from high school means more kids either going to the military or committing crimes and going to jail!!!!!!!
Either way, the Black community is getting killed off.
I read this on the phone with my mom and was telling her about it as well as Pell Grant cuts. We are both just in awe. I WILL be writing letters and forwarding this on to all of my friends and family.
