This is really getting close to the "why do you make the membership selection decisions you do" merry go round that GC has gone on several times.

While I may not agree with decisions other groups or other chapters may make, I will defend their right to choose members as THEY see fit - because if that's taken away from them, it might be taken away from me too.

I mean, I used to think it was HORRIBLE that some groups made transfers wait a semester or a year to affiliate - or sometimes didn't allow them to affiliate at all. Then I found out that these same groups had a lot of problems with women who were purposely pledging at smaller schools and then transferring to Large U - in other words, they weren't really interested in who the women were at either of the chapters, they just wanted to be able to say "Oh I'm an ABC at Large U" for the sake of prestige. If I got burned by that multiple times, I would probably do the same thing.
