HI,
i don't know anything about the schools you mentioned, but i can tell you that i went to a very liberal school (CA what else would you expect) and i was kinda of conserned cause i don't drink, nor do drugs or anything you would think of as a stereotypical. I went through rush and i was clear in a polite way that i would not participate in any activities that included these things. I would say something like, yeah my friends like to drink, but they know that if they want to hang out with me then they don't drink. I kinda of tried to include these comments in conversations not to be rude or make any assumptions about the sorority that i was at, but i did it in a way to let people know that i would not be the member that would be participating in these activities. I joined a house that had members that did drink but, NEVER did any one ever think that i would drink, ect. My sisters cared about me and would never try to talk me into doing something that i am not okay with. I think by politely expressing your views on drinking, in a very appropriate way will let what ever sorority you are at that you do not want to participate in these type of activities. Also, someone pointed out to me that it was obvious what sororities partied a lot cause of the slide show presentations during rush could not include any alcohol so sororities would simple cut out the beer cans from the picture and my friend pointed out that it was obvious by looking at the pictures which sororities drank a lot by the amount of cut outs in their slide show pictures.

Hope this helps,
debbie
