My roommate horor story isn't that bad...it was more of a frustration.
I was living in a two bedroom duplex with my little sister in the sorority for a year. Her grandfather owned it and charged us pennies for rent. At any rate, because of the fact that her grandfather owned it, I think she had a big ego about it. She'd move stuff around without asking me, she'd use stuff of mine without asking, and then she had some wierd quirks.
She was ULTRA paranoid that someone was going to break in and kill her. So her father made a 'SAFETY BOARD' out of a two-by-four and she'd prop it up under the doorknob of the front door. That wasn't what bothered me the most. What would get to me the most is she'd know I'd be coming home and she'd put it up anyway. So I'd have to ring to doorbell to wake her up and let me in.
Worse than that, she'd be afraid to be alone late at night and so she'd track me down by paging me. I'd be over at my boyfriend's house cuddling and watching a movie at 10 pm, when my pager would go off and she'd want to know if I was coming home anytime soon.
To top it off, she was so lazy, she'd gather up the trash on trash nights, but not take it out to the curb after a certain hour of the evening. So most nights I'd come home to the trash sitting on the front pourch and have to drag it out to the curb myself.
I think what baffeled me the most is when I went to move out, my brother and friend were lifting the box spring of my bed, and found a huge puke stain on it. It was the nastiest thing in the world. I was so furious because she had let people sleep in my bed and then evidently someone puked in it too. I love her to death, but I had enough.
I'm excited to move in with my friend here in a few weeks. We were both smart enough to make some rules up and agree to them. That way we couldn't say we didn't know ahead of time.
