I highly recommend a low carb diet... I've lost a lot of weight on the Atkins diet myself. Similar to what James is recommending.
- Lots of meat, fish, eggs, etc
- Salad veggies (lettuce, cucumber, etc)
- Other low carb veggies - broccoli, cauliflower, etc - all those things you loved to hate when you were little

- Cheese, cream
- Lots of water - 8 x 8 oz glasses per day
- Be wary of alcohol, because your body metabolizes it first, before carbs or fat. Ditto with caffeine.
I can point you to a few good sources of info - just drop me a line. If nothing else, get Dr. A.'s book and read it. Even if you don't subscribe to the low carb diet, read Dr. Atkins' book. Give it a chance ~ because I know a lot of people (myself and my husband included) for whom it's worked!
