If open recruitment is looked badly upon on your campus, no need for the big advertising and such. Do nice invitations to people you already KNOW who aren't affiliated and you think would be good fits for your group. We did that with our "wish list" of women that people met and didn't go through recruitment, and it worked well. Good luck, and let us know how it turns out!
