If it makes the girl look "hotter" (by whatever arbitrary standards the guy is using at the time), that's what we like.
For many girls, it is very little make-up, and for many others it's the full-blown, start-getting-ready-at-noon make-up job. Whatever makes you look better, that's what the guys will go for. Remember - visual stimuli is key for men (see: internet porn, Maxim magazine, popularity of Britney Spears).
That said - i think it's really nice for her to look amazing first thing in the morning, in pajamas and all dissheveled, sans makeup . . .
