Connecticut drivers are deeply stupid.

I was heading along Route X toward the dentist's office when asshat decides he's tired of waiting for the guy in front of him to turn left, and peels out into my lane without signaling or looking. He sees me coming up and immediately brake-checks. I drove off the road, since there was nowhere else I could go. I felt my ABS engage, and I was sitting there in the driver's seat, foot on the brake, screaming, leaning on the horn, but apparently still managed to scrape his back bumper enough to leave paint. I chalk it up to my years of commuting with crazy-ass nutcases that I didn't do worse. I neither felt nor heard an impact, so I kept going.

Asshat FOLLOWED ME to my destination (unbeknownst to me as he pulled over and let a few cars pass me so he could follow me surrepititiosly) and came after me in the parking lot. He yelled at me for speeding in a school zone (I was doing maybe 15). I kept my head enough to RUN into the dentist's office and say to the receptionist "call the cops" (cell phones don't work around there).

I was too wigged to sit still for my cleaning, and had to reschedule.

I've told the cops to leave it at a computer record of the incident for now, but I'm inclined to go in and file an accident report, as the accident was plainly his fault for an improper lane change.
