If your GPA is low enough to limit your choices, perhaps you should focus on your academics and then reconsider recruitment options in the future.
Keep in mind that the published chapter GPAs are the
minimum GPAs permitted for pledging. They do not mean that if you have that GPA you will get a bid. Let's say that on your campus, ABC lists 2.5 as their GPA requirement, DEF lists a 2.9 GPA and GH lists a 2.25 GPA. The reality may be that ABC actually only accepts new members with a 3.2 and higher GPA, DEF considers any woman with a 2.9 and up, and GH is looking for women at the top of the 4.0 scale and rarely will accept new members under a 3.0.
Also, since it sounds as if you may have had some major health issues, you may be able to petition the late drop be changed from the F to a withdrawal. Check with your school's policies and contact your physicians if needed for supporting paperwork to submit if you petition (speaking from personal experience on this one!)
